Beverage Coding & Packaging

High-speed codes on PET, glass and cans, plus bundling and palletizing.

Beverage Coding & Packaging
Overview

What beverage lines need

Beverage lines run fast, wet and around the clock. Codes go on PET, glass, cans, caps and labels, often through condensation. Downstream, bottles are bundled, cased, wrapped and labelled for the supply chain.

Typical codes and marks

  • Production and expiry dates
  • Line and time stamps
  • Promotional and under-cap codes
  • Returnable-glass tracking marks
  • SSCC pallet labels
Challenges

What matters most

01

Speed

Can lines exceed a thousand containers a minute. High-frequency CIJ and high-power lasers keep characters legible at those rates.

02

Condensation

Cold-fill bottles sweat. Laser marks are unaffected; condensation-penetrating inks and air knives keep inkjet codes sharp.

03

Lightweight PET

Thin-wall bottles need a 9.3 µm CO2 laser that marks the surface without weakening it.
