100 W CO2 Laser Scoring & Perforating System

Easy-open scoring and micro-perforation for flexible film.

100 W CO2 Laser Scoring & Perforating System
How it works

Built around your product

Beyond coding, the CL-G100 converts film. It scores a controlled depth into laminate layers for easy-tear opening and drills micro-perforations for modified-atmosphere produce packs, registered to the print.

An RF-excited sealed tube generates the beam, and a galvo scan head writes characters as continuous vector strokes. Choosing the wavelength matters: 10.6 µm suits paper, board, glass and wood; 9.3 µm gives a clean frosted mark on PET bottles; 10.2 µm works well on laminated cartons and coated films.

Key features

  • Depth-controlled scoring without breaking the barrier
  • Micro-perforation for breathable packs
  • Print-mark registration
  • Mounts on slitters, rewinders and pouch makers

Process sequence

Trigger

A sensor detects each pack; the encoder supplies line speed.

Compose

The controller builds the message from real-time date, shift and counter data.

Scribe

The scan head writes the code while the product keeps moving.

Extract

A fume extractor captures ablated ink and dust.

Confirm

A code reader or OCR camera checks presence and legibility.

Questions

Which wavelength should I use on PET bottles?
9.3 µm is the standard choice. It creates a shallow, frosted mark with good contrast and far less risk of thinning the bottle wall than 10.6 µm.
Can CO2 lasers mark bare metal?
Not effectively. Bare metals reflect CO2 wavelengths; use a fiber laser. CO2 does work on painted or anodised metal by removing the coating.
How long does a CO2 tube last?
Sealed RF tubes typically run for tens of thousands of hours before a regas is needed. Service interval depends on duty cycle and cooling.
